School Attire
The purpose of our dress code is to help create a distraction-free learning environment. Please help us accomplish this goal by ensuring your child is properly dressed for school. Parents of students who are dressed inappropriately will be contacted.
Tops:
• Any solid color shirt is acceptable (with or without a collar).
• Shirts should be appropriate length covering midriff and shoulders.
• Hats or hoodies cannot be covering the head when inside the school.
• Oversized clothing is not allowed.
Bottoms:
• Pants, skirts and shorts must be khaki, black, navy blue or denim jeans (no holes or rips).
• Any solid-colored dress may be worn.
• Athletic pants or shorts are allowed.
• Solid colored leggings may not be worn as pants and should only be worn under a skirt or dress.
Shoes:
• Tennis shoes are highly encouraged for daily outdoor play and Physical Education.
• For safety reasons, flip-flops are not allowed. All footwear must have a heel strap.
HVES Spirit-Wear:
• Students may wear HVES spirit-wear every day. This includes B.A.R.K. shirts, shirts from school sponsored events, and any spirit-wear purchased through the HVES PTO. Bellevue Middle and Lawson High School Spirit wear are also allowed.
HVES Administration reserves the right to make adjustments to the SSA guidelines as needed.

HVES accepts donations to the UniCycle program to help with recycling of clothing. Donation locations are in the lobby of the school.
